Photo Blog: Seattle in August

I took a few photos around town on the last day my sister was up here. She hadn’t gotten to see much of Seattle during the five weeks she was in town because she spent all her time helping out our mom with moving and with the Chemotherapy schedule and so on. So we went out and took a look around beginning with a trip to the Space needle at night (click on the images to see them full size):

The next day we headed into Queen Anne to get a look at the city from Kerry Park overlook. Amazingly, in spite of the high pressure and slight smoggy inversion layer, we could actually see Mt. Rainier! Sneaky Mountain….

Here’s just the view. See how Mt. Rainier seems to be floating on a bed of pink clouds… (of smog, but what the hell…):

After the view, we dropped in at Pike Place Market for a while and had a snack in Post Alley under the Sisters sign, which amused me so I took this photo:

I’m so glad my sister got to see some of the city before she had to go… and at least she didn’t have to witness the horrible carnage of Teddy Slaughter soon to be perpetrated by Bella…

Oh nooo….

Wow! That shot of Seattle and Mt. Rainier is incredible. It’s so rare to see the mountain that clearly. Nicely done!

  2. We just got lucky. A few days earlier, the smog was lighter, but I wasn’t anywhere near the Overlook.

  3. Teddy’s name is officially “Victim” and Victim has already had its face ripped off….

Lovely photos and lovely sister! Just wanted to let you know I finally finished Downpour! BRILLIANT! I really liked the deeper connection established between Quentin and Harper. I also really like how it seems as though this journey that Harper is on is making her stronger so that she can risk being more vulnerable to those she loves. I always have such clear visuals when I’m reading your books which is part of what I love about reading in general. Being transported to another place and time, with characters that I like, to experience something outside of myself and my life. I have to say that I’m amused that your book and Carrie Vaughn’s latest Kitty Norville book both had a huli-jing in it. Anyway…well done and thanks again!
