Recently finished The Serpent’s Shadow by Mercedes Lackey–was highly recommended as an unusual and charming treatment of Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs but set in Edwardian England with a magic-using half-Indian doctor in the Snow White role. Interesting. Often very good, though the villian left me rather underwhelmed.
Currently reading The Bride’s Kimono by Sujata Massey. Getting a little pissed off with the heroine’s stupidity with respect to men and her tendency to pick the wrong fights while letting herself be browbeaten into other things as plot devices. Back story and main plot are pretty good, but the character herself is starting to lose me. 😦
